In collaboration with “Best Buddies”, Montblanc launches a new writing instrument dedicated to John F. Kennedy. Best Buddies was created by Anthony Shriver, the nephew of J.F.K. to help children and adults with disabilities.
Commemorating one of the most revered figures in modern history, the Special Edition John F. Kennedy makes symbolic references to the life of J.F. Kennedy in subtle design details.
From 1961 onwards, the young American president brought a fresh breeze to the White House and impressed the world with his charisma. John F. Kenned, on May 25, 1961 announced his ambitious space programme, which he aimed to achieve: “before this decade is out”. True to his vision, Neil Armstrong left his footprints on the moon in 1969.
The blue precious resin refers to Kennedy’s time in the U.S. Navy. His initials “JFK” are engraved in the platinum-plated clip, and the three platinum-plated cap rings stand for Kennedy’s three brothers, while the rings on the barrel symbolize his military career as a young WWII veteran.
In reference to the Apollo space programme, a project that was dear to his heart and carried with it America’s hopes and dreams, the handcrafted 14K gold nib is engraved with the lunar module that turned this vision into a reality in 1969. The Special Edition is crowned by the Montblanc emblem in precious resin.
