ST Dupont continues this tradition by decorating its lighters and pens with the finest leathers. This collection is a wink to S.T. Dupont’s first know-how of trunk-maker with black alligator . Genuine Black Alligator leather all over the surface of the lighter. Each product is numbered individually.
The alligator skin is part of the “exotic skin” category, such as ostrich, snake, shark and other reptiles skins.
Alligator skin requires necessarily a manual cut to respect the geometry of scales. The work requires a very specific know-how which only few leather craftsmen possess.
Alligator is a species protected by the convention of Washington, CITES which allows to trail the skin from the livestock farming to the final client. This document is required by all customs services when travelling with an alligator skin product.
The S.T. Dupont “Alligator” includes Olympio Fountain Pen/480851, Olympio Rollerball/485406 and Ligne 2 Lighter/016852.
The pen’s body is finished in a beautiful black alligator leather, while the cap and trim of the pen are finished in palladium and have an engraved pattern which continues that of the leather. The smooth and cushy feeling of the pen makes you want to write with it all day long! The fountain pen’s nib is handmade in 18-carat solid gold.
The ligne 2 Lighter also finished in palladium, has the same pattern. Its polished metal lid takes crocodile leather décor within its body.
