Andy Warhol Limited Edition Series
Andy Warhol (1928-1987) – an American artist, producer, designer, writer, magazine publisher and filmmaker, a leading figure in the history of the pop art. The founder of the ideology “homo universale”, the creator of works that are synonymous with the concept of “commercial pop art”.
Andy Warhol is one of the most famous artists of the 20th century and a pillar of contemporary art. He is one of the rare artists to achieve legendary status during his own lifetime. Andy Warhol’s career took off in 1949 when he started as a commercial artist in New York. He illustrated articles and designed ads for high- profile fashion magazines such as Glamour, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar. With his very characteristic artistic style, he rapidly became the darling of New York.
At the beginning of the 50s the appearance of Pop Art changed the face of the contemporary art world dramatically. This trend found its critical inspiration in symbols of mass consumption, including brand names, advertising slogans and comic strips as well as famous cinema actors and pop stars. Warhol began to incorporate Pop Art into his work in the early 1960s. His drawings and paintings depicted dollars, Campbell’s soup cans, bottles of Coca Cola and Heinz tomato ketchup, comic strips, etc. His art, using images from the consumer market, made him a popular figure and he soon became known as the “Prince of Pop Art”.
In 1962, Andy Warhol adopted a new technique: silkscreening, which became his trademark, marking the beginning of a new period in the history of art – silk-screen printed photograph reproduced on canvas and painted in very bright colours. He produced a number of celebrity portraits including Liz Tylor, Jackie Kennedy, Marlon Brondo, Mick Jagger and, of course, Marilyn Monroe and Elvis Presley, who are the embodiment of the American Dream.
S.T. Dupont selected three of his famous works for the Andy Warhol series. The Elvis and Marilyn Lighters and Pens are numbered out of 1 to 1,964 pieces, in reference to the year Warhol created the images. Likewise, the Andy Warhol Lighters are numbered out of 1 to 1,986.
Andy Warhol 1986 / Self-Portait
The producer of mass-produced fine art, Andy Warhol, is now being reproduced in a Limited Edition palladium lighter.
Andy Warhol remains one of the most influential figures in American art and culture. He coined some of the best expressions of the last century, including that bit about how everybody gets “15 minutes of fame”. “In the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes” reveals his desire to position himself on the same level as his works, and to immortalize both his art and the artist himself.
His words featuring the Andy Warhol Limited Edition, the Ligne 2 Lighter displays a black and yellow replica of Warhol’s 1986 self-portrait in the back, depicted in Chinese lacquer.
Andy Warhol / Elvis Presley 1964
This marvelous collection from S.T. Dupont honors the legendary “Prince of Pop Art” Andy Warhol, and his tribute to the “King of Rock and Roll” Elvis Presley.

The front of the lighter is decorated with Andy Warhol’s quote “In the future everyone will be world famous for fifteen minutes”.
The Olympio writing instruments come in the same bright red pop color as the Elvis Presley portrait, matching the ligne 2 lighter. The pens’ caps are embellished with Andy Warhol’s famous words, signed with his signature.
