The Montblanc Meisterstück Great Masters collection is a series of editions paying tribute to both the paradigm of excellence of the Meisterstück as well as to the visionary traditions of other master craftsmen and to their long-standing dedication to excellence.
The Meisterstück Great Masters Pirelli Limited Edition 1872 merges the art of writing with the art of making tyres. The collection celebrates the know-how of the Pirelli craftsmen, “sgorbiatori”, who meticulously hand-carve tyre patterns; taking days to create just a single prototype. These Pirelli Masters – both technicians and engineers – provide a key contribution to the research & development aimed at making the experience of driving with Pirelli tyres a memorable one.
This partnership joins the art of writing with the art of tyre-making, and the unique heritage of two companies.
Pirelli Limited Edition
The number of pens in this Limited Edition refers to the year 1872, the year Pirelli was founded, in Milan. The cap is crowned with the Montblanc emblem in mother of pearl, set in onyx and surrounded by a lacquered ring in the iconic Pirelli red. A similar ring can be found on the finial of the body. The body and cap are coated with rubber, decorated with a pattern inspired by the patterns of Pirelli tyres through the ages. The cone, cap top, clip and cap ring, which carries the name Montblanc are ultra black ruthenium-coated.
The elongated “P” from the Pirelli logo (in use since 1908) appears on the Au750 ruthenium-coated gold nib above a stylised running tyre with the Montblanc motif in its centre.
