John Adams (1735–1826), the second President of the United States, stands as one of the most influential architects of the American nation. A fierce advocate for independence, brilliant political thinker, diplomat, lawyer, and one of the principal authors behind the foundations of the United States, Adams played a decisive role in shaping the country’s democratic future. As the second President of the United States and a key figure in the Continental Congress, his dedication, clarity of thought, and unwavering commitment to justice helped secure the freedoms and values that define America today. His legacy continues to symbolize integrity, perseverance, and the pursuit of reason.
Montblanc’s America’s Signatures for Freedom collection includes a tribute to John Adams, the second President of the United States and a foundational figure in America’s independence. This exceptionally rare limited edition is restricted to just 50 pieces, symbolizing the 50 states of the union.
Crafted with meticulous precision, the fountain pen features an 18K solid white gold octagonal body enriched with hematite inlays, a stone traditionally believed to ease anxiety and enhance focus and memory—qualities associated with Adams himself. The pen is comparable in size to a Montblanc LeGrand 146 and uses a piston-filling mechanism.
The cap carries an elegant ring set with 25 diamonds (each 1.5 mm) along with three additional diamonds (1.2 mm) totaling approximately 0.35 carats. Around the Montblanc emblem—crafted from luminous mother-of-pearl—you’ll find John Adams’ signature and his presidential term (1797–1801). The clip is richly engraved with a portrait of John Adams, while the clip rings portray olive leaves inspired by the artwork on the one-dollar bill.
The rhodium-plated 18K gold nib is specially engraved with the inscription America’s Signatures for Freedom and surrounded by 13 stars, representing the original states that adopted and later signed the Declaration of Independence.
