Montblanc The Legend of Zodiacs – The Horse Limited Edition 512 (8x8x8) pays tribute to the seventh sign of the Chinese zodiac and to the number eight, a symbol of prosperity and good fortune in many Asian traditions.
The cap, crafted from Ag 925 sterling silver, showcases a finely hand-engraved depiction of a horse — an homage to both the zodiac sign and the noble, swift steeds of ancient China known as tianma, or “heavenly horses.” These legendary animals, admired for their elegance and energy, were seen as emblems of vitality and auspicious beginnings. The engraving captures the creature’s light, graceful posture, complete with its characteristic Chinese-style mane knot.
Encircling the horse are delicate engravings of the lucky cloud (祥云), a traditional Chinese motif symbolizing blessings and good luck. The platinum-coated barrel continues the theme of prosperity with an intricate pattern inspired by the Chinese knot (Zhōngguó jié, 中国结), representing unity and longevity.
A blue topaz set in the cone honors the birthstone of those born under the Horse sign. The cap ring bears the inscription of 2026 — the upcoming Year of the Horse — along with the six previous Horse years. Completing the masterpiece, the cap is crowned with Montblanc’s mother-of-pearl emblem, while the handcrafted nib in solid Au 750 gold, finished with rhodium coating, features a detailed engraving of the celestial horse in motion.
