A signature collaboration, where sacred fire meets electric energy
When the sophistication of S.T. Dupont meets the raw energy of rock, a striking new chapter emerges. To celebrate the opening of Fender’s flagship store in Tokyo’s dynamic Harajuku district, the two legendary houses reunite to present a collection that bridges Japanese artistry with the iconic world of electric guitars.
This collaboration draws its soul from kintsugi, the centuries-old Japanese art of repairing cracks with gold, transforming imperfections into unique beauty. It is a philosophy of resilience and artistry, perfectly aligned with S.T. Dupont’s mastery of lacquer and hand-applied gold finishes.
Paying homage to the fluid lines of Fender’s iconic Stratocaster® and Mustang® guitars, each creation captures the harmony between form and sound. The Ligne 2 lighter and Line D Eternity writing instruments are reinterpreted as visual tributes to these legendary instruments: the curves, neck, and strings are subtly integrated into their design. The lighter’s cap bears a new guilloché motif inspired by kintsugi’s golden seams, while the pen’s clip elegantly transforms into a guitar head. Every detail reflects precision, passion, and a pursuit of perfect balance.
The collection’s rock-inspired spirit comes alive through two distinct themes. Black & Golden honours the timeless black Stratocaster®, while Blue & Golden celebrates the blue Mustang® — an instrument forever linked to Kurt Cobain’s unforgettable performance in Smells Like Teen Spirit. Each edition is accompanied by refined accessories, including a cigar cutter, ashtray, and a guitar-pick-shaped pendant engraved with crossed initials.
