For over a decade, Montblanc has paid tribute to the Eastern zodiac through its annual limited-edition creations. In 2022, marking the start of the Year of the Tiger according to the Chinese calendar, Montblanc introduced the Legend of Zodiacs – The Tiger, Limited Edition 512. This number is symbolic, reflecting the cultural significance of the number 8, considered auspicious in many Asian traditions (8x8x8 = 512). This exclusive writing instrument features a cap crafted from Ag 925 sterling silver, beautifully hand-engraved with a tiger motif. The barrel, finished in a rose-gold tone, showcases refined engravings inspired by the traditional “lucky cloud” design. Complementing the design, the cone is also rose-gold tone and set with a blue sapphire—an homage to the Tiger’s birthstone. The cap ring bears the engraving of 2022 along with previous Tiger years, honoring this powerful zodiac sign. A mother-of-pearl Montblanc emblem crowns the cap, and the solid Au 750 gold nib is delicately engraved with a representation of the tiger, bringing the piece’s symbolism full circle.
