Some novels become more than just stories — they capture the spirit of an entire time period. F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby is one of these important works in American literature. First published in 1925, it shows the exciting and wealthy world of the Jazz Age and the Roaring Twenties — a time full of parties, luxury, and big dreams. The story takes place in lively New York City, with fancy Long Island mansions and glamorous high-society events. At the center of it is Jay Gatsby, a mysterious millionaire who will do anything to win back his first love, Daisy Buchanan.
Special edition – Fountain pen, Rollerball pen & Ballpoint pen
The special edition pen inspired by The Great Gatsby reflects the shine and elegance of this time. Its design is influenced by early Montblanc pens and the Art Deco style of the 1920s. The barrel’s surface, made with a special technique, looks like New York’s tall, brightly lit buildings at night. The Montblanc emblem at the top of the cap stores light and glows in the dark, just like the famous green light from Daisy’s dock in the novel. The clip on the pen, shaped like a money clip, is coated in platinum and decorated with Jay Gatsby’s initials in a gold Art Deco design. The bottom of the pen is shaped like the cap of a stylish old hip flask and includes rings in red, white, and blue — the colors of the American flag — as a nod to the American dream. When you remove the cap, you’ll see a handcrafted gold nib with a detailed image of Gatsby’s luxurious cream-colored car, just as it was described by Fitzgerald in the novel.
Limited Edition 1925 – Fountain pen & Rollerball pen
The cap of the pen features a stylish pinstripe pattern in black and white lacquer, which matches perfectly with the smooth black lacquer barrel. The pen’s clip is shaped like a money clip and is coated in shiny platinum, symbolizing the power and influence of wealth. Inside the rounded part of the clip are Jay Gatsby’s initials, shown in a gold-colored Art Deco design. The cone is inspired by the screw cap of a vintage hip flask — a popular item during the Art Deco era — and is decorated with fine rings in red, white, and blue, representing the American flag and the idea of the American dream. At the top of the pen, the Montblanc emblem is made from mother-of-pearl, a glowing, colorful material often used in luxury jewelry during the 1920s. Handcrafted two-tone gold nib (made of Au 750 gold with a rhodium coating), engraved with an image of Jay Gatsby’s luxurious car — described in the book as “a rich cream colour, bright with nickel… and terraced with a labyrinth of wind-shields that mirrored a dozen suns.
