Crafted with a black PVD base and adorned with a gray-toned coating featuring a distinctive “shagreen” graphic, this material, also referred to as “stingray leather” in English or “striped leather” in Spanish, was originally prized by Japanese samurai for enhancing the grip of their sword blades while offering beauty and water resistance. The inspiration for creating this pen, along with other Dunhill writing instruments, is drawn from the Art Deco boxes and lighting fixtures crafted by the brand in the 1930s. The upper ring and crown are intricately engraved with a unique number and the brand logo. The pen incorporates a cartridge or converter-based cargo system. Additionally, this exceptional pen is available in a limited edition of 250 as a fountain pen.
