Limited Edition / Montbalnc Star Legacy Chronograph 42mm

Inspired by the majestic Mont Blanc, Montblanc launched the new Montblanc Star series Glacier Limited Edition watches, each limited to 1786 pieces, to pay tribute to Jacques Balmat’s successful ascent to the summit in 1786.

The new Montblanc Star 1786 Blue Capsule Collection includes three main limited edition models: Automatic Date 39mm, Moonphase 42mm and Chronograph 42mm . All three models take up the connection to Mont Blanc with the new dark blue glacier dials.

The Montblanc Star Legacy Moonphase comes in a 42mm pebble-shaped stainless steel case with rose gold-coated hands, Arabic numerals, and an eye-catching blue glacier pattern dial. The dial is decorated with a layered ice design that was inspired by the Mer de Glace, the main glacier of the Mont-Blanc Mountain. The centre of the dial is created using a special stamp that reproduces this glacier texture and celebrates the “blue hour” – “l’heure bleue”, during which a shade of intense blue falls upon the glacier at dusk when the moon rises and the stars begin to shine. It was at this time of day that Jacques Balmat became the first person to reach the summit of the Mont Blanc – at 18:23 on August 7th, 1786. The functions include hours, minutes, central seconds with a Montblanc emblem on the counterweight, moonphase, and a date that are powered by the MB 24.31 automatic movement that can be admired through a sapphire crystal case back. The timepiece is paired with a blue Sfumato alligator strap.
