S.T. DUPONT French Line

Limited Edition / Olympio Writing Instruments and Lighters

The French Art de Vivre has always been a source of fantasy. It evokes the spirit, the refinement and the luxury of French culture. In 1864 a new transatlantic liaison, the Transatlantic General Company, embodying that unique Art de Vivre, transported the elite on its majestic ocean-liners linking Europe to the New World.

The Compagnie Générale Transatlantique (CGT, and commonly named “Transat”), was a French shipping company, typically known overseas as the “French Line”.

In testimony of the French Art of Travelling, S.T. Dupont has created this Limited Edition which pays tribute to these legendary liners. For this Limited Edition, S.T. Dupont took as a starting point the unique architecture of these ships.

The brushed steel plates on the lighters as well as the anthracite metal body of the pens evoke the impressive hulls, the rivets and the grids in relief are reminiscent of the banisters, the rails and the bridges of the steamers.

The ”French Line” Limited Edition which is partially decorated with subtly refined details such as matt silk steel PVD plates, it also features the red “French Line” logo on it. They form the distinctive features of this unique collection.

The original Limited Collection includes two Line 2 Lighters: Large/016425 and Small/018425, three large Olympio Pens: Fountain Pen/480425M , Rollerball/482425 and Ballpoint Pen/485425 or Mechanical Pencil, an Ashtray and a Keychain.

The lighters and pens are numbered from 1 to 1864 and the accessories 1 to 864 to commemorate the year the Le Havre – New York transatlantic line opened. The company’s first vessel, SS “Washington” had its maiden voyage on 15 June 1864.
