This extremely Limited Edition George Washington Fountain Pen, the first in a series honoring America and its presidents, takes its inspiration from one of the preeminent founding fathers of the United States along with John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison.
In 2007, Montblanc launched its America’s Signatures for Freedom Limited Edition Fountain Pen Series, dedicated to the lives and works of the Founding Fathers of the United States of America, whose services laid the groundwork for our nation’s freedom, independence, and values.
George Washington (1732-1799), was commander in chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War (1775-83) and served two terms as the first U.S. president, from 1789 to 1797. The son of a prosperous planter, Washington was raised in colonial Virginia. As a young man, he worked as a surveyor then fought in the French and Indian War (1754-63).
George Washington, who served as the first president of the United States, played an indispensable role in adopting and ratifying the Constitution of the United States. Washington has been called the “Father of the Nation” for his manifold leadership in the formative days of the country.
