Limited Edition Gatsby Lighter
The S.T. Dupont Gatsby Lighter in blue Chinese lacquer and gold-plated finishes commemorates Austria’s entry into the EU (European Union), in 1995.
In 1995, the EU gained 3 new members: Austria, Finland and Sweden, thus the 15 stars symbolise the 15 members, that had joined the EU in that period.
The National Flag of Austria has three equal horizontal bands of red, white and red. The red stands for strength and bravery, while the white stands for peace and honesty.
The European flag symbolises both the European Union and, more broadly, the identity and unity of Europe. Featuring a circle of 12 golden stars on a blue background, they stand for the ideals of unity, solidarity and harmony among the peoples of Europe. The number of stars has nothing to do with the number of member countries, though the circle is a symbol of unity.
