This year marks the 200th anniversary of Napoleon Bonaparte’s death (15 August 1769 – 5 May 1821) and the French Maison S.T. Dupont honours him with an astonishing Limited Edition.

The collection is inspired on a Marshal’s baton: the ultimate distinctive sign of a Marshal was his baton. In the time of Napoleon, it was cylindrical, 50 centimeters long and 4 centimeters and a half in diameter, made of wood and covered in dark blue velvet, decorated with golden eagles or bees, both Imperial symbols.
The bee, a symbol of power and immortality, was so important to Napoleon Bonaparte, it was exclusively reserved for the imperial family. Another symbol closely associated with Napoleon is the Imperial Eagle which forms the center point of his coat of arms. The eagle was a symbol of the Roman Empire and associated with military victory, linking Napoleon to the great rulers of the past.

Napoléon Prestige Collection / A creation by S.T. Dupont and Solyfonte

Since 1985, Solyfonte has been creating art pieces in bronze and sterling silver for the greatest French luxury brands. Today, Christophe Saint Romain and his team master all the ancestral knowledge of the art of molten metal. Their expertise in ancient art mixed with modern technology allows them to push the limits of their creativity every day, their unbridled imagination has no limits and they are certainly not limited by political correctness.

One of Christophe’s most famous secrets is the art of patina. In his studio in central France, he juggles acids and other foggy products to create patinas so deep that they sometimes look as if the sculpture is going to move.

The Prestige Napoléon pen has a black patina barrel accented by the gold plated bees and eagles. The base of the pen stand is made of art bronze and also has the famous patina created by Solyfonte.

The 18K gold nib, medium, provides a perfect soft, smooth and rapid writing. The pen uses standard international cartridges or the supplied converter.

The Limited Edition Lighter made of yellow gold bears Napoleon’s image in silver plating and the Imperial symbol, which is depicted on the other side.

The Napoléon Prestige Collection is highly limited to only 88 pieces worldwide and is made to order.
