MONTBLANC Annual Edition 2011

With the fountain pens of 2011, the Annual Edition is being continued – Montblanc used new images to illustrate the universe of Venetian carnival, ancient mythology and the realm of fabled creatures, creating an harmonious Collection of exquisite writing instruments.

Painted in a historical style and with the finest brush strokes, three fascinating motifs have been immortalised on the caps made of the finest Meissen porcelain: Athena or Athene, often known by his byname “Pallas” is An ancient Greek goddess associated with wisdom, handicraft, and warfare, who was later identified by the Romans with Minerva. Il Dottore – “the Doctor” is a Commedia dell’Arte character, commonly known in Italian as Dottor Balan or Balanzone – one of the “vecchi” (old men), whose function is to be an obstacle to the young lovers. In Asian culture Butterfly represents love, specifically young love, which is also the symbol of freedom, immortality, conjugal bliss, beauty and soul.

The gold-plated, guilloche-style barrel and the nib made of 18-carat gold perfect this edition of exquisite writing instruments which are available for only one year.
