Montblanc annual Edition 2009 collectors’ series fountain pens feature carefully hand-painted motifs from the legendary world of “Classical Myths”- Diana & Aktäon , the magical atmosphere of the “Venetian Carnival”- Mezzetino and the fantastic realm of “Mythical Creatures”- Rich Dragon.
Made of the finest Meissen porcelain, the caps are decorated by hand-painted images. The year of the edition is marked on each cap and decorated with the crossed blue swords – the symbol of Meissen porcelain manufacture.
The Meissen porcelain caps are dedicated to the three themes, with dragon – the symbol of happiness, wealth and protection in Chinese mythology, the polite but unscrupulous character of Mezzetino of the Commedia dell’Arte, and Diana – goddess of the moon and hunting who brings young hunter Aktäon’s life to an end.
Each writing instrument – the height of perfection with a gold-plated, finely guilloched barrel and the 18-carat gold nib – is available for one year only.
