At the request of a client, Alain Crevet, CEO of S.T. Dupont , took on the challenge of making an exceptional lighter paying homage to the History of France and in particular to King Louis XIII.
LOUIS XIII Fleur de Parme is one of the designs in the Haute Creation line of S.T. Dupont, introduced in November 2013, creating a great resonance in the world of French collectors and designers.
The exceptional, record lighter was sold for an ultra-high amount of five hundred thousand euros.
This work of art was acquired by a Hong Kong businessman – The extravagant businessman Stephen Hung who is a collector of lighters and Dupont pens, and also a great lover of French art has a special admiration for Louis XIII, Louis XIV and the Palace of Versailles.
It was obvious to this collector, passionate about the kings of France, and owner of the future Louis XIII casino in Macao, that this work could only be created by a talented French artisan, Princess Tania de Bourbon Parme who also carries the royal blood.
Designer Princess Tania de Bourbon Parme is a direct descendent of Louis XIII and works with S.T. Dupont artisans to create masterpieces which bring together elegant French baroque design with the finest materials, and is the creator of the most expensive lighter in the world, the gold Louis XIII Fleur de Parme.
This unique piece in the world took 6 months of work and allowed 80 enthusiasts of the house of S.T. Dupont to make this exceptional lighter. The collaboration being very rewarding for the French crafts, this businessman asked Tania de Bourbon Parme to be part of his board, to advise him on all the artistic aspects related to France that will be put in place for its Macau Casino.
