Inspired by rare heritage skills dating back to S.T. Dupont’s origins, brand’s artisans revive unique lacquering techniques to bring the Atelier 1953 range of hand-crafted objects to life.

S.T. Dupont Workshop was created in 1953 in their manufacture, in Faverges; a place where special orders or exceptional objects are created. It holds all the manufacturing secrets of their precious and perfectly illustrates the brand’s skill in goldsmith and lacquer work.

Now, the company has created a new line that harkens back to the days of the S.T. Dupont’s roots, aptly named Atelier – the French word for “Workshop”.

The “Collection S.T. Dupont Atelier” is a series of numbered, limited quantity items that showpiece the skills of the Dupont craftsmen by using the very best materials available including Chinese lacquers, brushed gold finishes and palladium.

Four models in Chinese lacquer, with unequalled shine and depth, are reproduced in limited quantities in dark brown, light brown, blue and burgundy.

Gold Finish & Navy Blue Lacquer

Drawing inspiration from the S.T. Dupont archives and working closely with master lacquerers, the Atelier range reinvents iconic designs in the finest natural lacquer, skillfully applied to create a striking tortoiseshell finish, contrasted with yellow gold.

The S.T. Dupont Atelier Line D Fountain Pen/410698, Rollerball/412698 and Ballpoint Pen/415105 have the right weight for perfect writing comfort. The distinctive sound of the cap being placed on the pen is reminiscent of the famous “cling” sound of the ST Dupont lighters. The fountain pen’s nib is crafted from 14K solid gold, finished with the letter ‘D” and delicate patterns engraved in the centre.

For the occasion, S.T. Dupont went back to the earliest archives of its Workshop to reissue its Ligne 2 Lighter with the perfect “cling” – crystalline sound, a symbol of unequalled excellence instantly recognised by those in the know. S.T. Dupont artisans revived unique lacquering techniques to bring the Atelier 1953 range of hand-crafted objects to life, with natural lacquer applied by hand, layer by layer, to create a perfect finish.

The Ligne 2 Lighter/016134 features the old S.T. Dupont logo, the date 1953 on the side and the winged wheel, which used to be a part of the company’s older designs.

Flame-proof and highly resilient, each piece from the Atelier 1953 collection becomes an enduring precious object of beauty with its own unique character.
