Back in the early 2000’s Montblanc released an exquisite Artisan collection in honour of Hans Christian Andersen.
The Artisan Collection “Magic Beauty” takes its artistic inspiration from Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Ugly Duckling”. This exclusive and rare edition – Meisterstück fountain pen 144 and ballpoint pen 164 feature a beak in 18K gold breaking through the beautiful craquelé (craquelure) finish, as it was emerging from an eggshell. The barrel is completely gold-plated and the Montblanc emblem is in mother-of-pearl.
The name “The Ugly Duckling” comes from the 18K gold beak on the cap.
Magic Beauty “The Ugly Duckling” Collection includes a Fountain Pen, Ballpoint Pen, Quartz Gilt Watch, Tie Bar and Cufflinks.
The wristwatch features eggshell craquellé finish dial, domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and mother-of-pearl Montblanc logo on crown. The watch strap is made of calf leather in black.
