Collaboration between S.T. Dupont and “2 Saints”

“2 Saints” is a collaboration between George – a young French-American multi-faceted artist, and Fred Saint Romain – a French director who created Art & Design’s know-how.

As the founder of 2 Saints, George says: “2 Saints is dedicated to my father who was a business entrepreneur and the drummer of a R’n’R Band. “2 Saints” is also a mirror of myself: I am a designer by day and a musician by night. Thanks to his father, cars, mechanics and music are his true passions. His mother transmitted her love for painting and sculpture, with a strong preference for Arman and Cesar. All his work comes out directly from this dual heritage.

Today George is intensely inspired by the new masculinity of the New York underground community, proudly asserting traditional signs of virility and modern sensitivity.

He appointed Philippe Tournaire, the famous French artist-jeweller, to handcraft and commercialize his first collection. Awarded as one of the French Living Patrimony Company, Philippe Tournaire is one of the last French jewellers who perfectly handcraft all precious metals as Gold and Silver. For George, it is a guarantee of excellence in craftsmanship and delivery.

Thanks to Philippe Tournaire, George discovered S.T. Dupont Paris, the famous French House of Luxury lighters, writing instruments and art of travelling.

Each 2 SAINTS creation is handmade in a Tournaire workshop in France.

Saint Georges Collection by Tournaire

The inspiration for the Saint George Slaying the Dragon limited series is taken from the ancient legends eulogized by the Catholic Church for centuries.

According to legend, Saint George was a brave Roman cavalry officer, riding a white horse and holding a cross-encrusted spear, leading the Catholic army to fight the enemy bravely. One day, during his journey, St. George passed through a town bullied by dragons in the swamp in order to save the local residents. St. George raised the cross spear to kill the dragon and rescued the princess who was about to be sacrificed.

Nowadays, the statue of Saint George slaying the dragon stands in the streets of major European cities, even though Saint George never existed.

His story still conveys the great spirit of protecting the weak and sacrificing holiness.

The body of the S.T. Dupont Saint Georges pens, available in Prestige and Exclusive versions, are in black Chinese lacquer and decorated with a bronze sculpture representing St. George slaying the dragon. Depending on the version, the decorative elements of the handles are silver or yellow gold.

In addition, the collection includes smoking accessories: two types of lighters and ashtrays.

Gold plated brass Tournaire ashtrays and Lighters, capturing the tale of the Golden Legend in Silene, Libya, where Saint George – a soldier in the Roman army, slayed a dragon, saving a princess and hundreds of villagers.
