MONTBLANC Limited Edition / Antoni Gaudi Skeleton

Antoni Gaudí i Cornet (1852-1926) was an outstanding Spanish architect of the twentieth century, most of whose whimsical work is located in Barcelona and defined the appearance of this Mediterranean city.

Antont Gaudi revolutionised architecture with his intriguing buildings, becoming an icon of Catalan Modernism. Montblanc pays tribute to this master of colour and form with a sumptuous skeleton fountain pen edition made in 750 gold, which with its striking beauty and immaculate craftsmanship, is the embodiment of his unique style. Its design was inspired by the spectacular architecture and curving balconies of the Casa Batlló in Barcelona. The cap is lavishly inlaid with lacquer and pays artistic homage to Gaudi’s most famous complex of buildings and to the remarkable shapes of his windows.

The gleaming mother-of-pearl lacquer with its mosaic-like engraving forms the Montblanc emblem on the top of the cap. The tower of the Sagrada Família, Gaudi’s symbol of his home city of Barcelona, is depicted in fine engraving on the 18K gold nib. The Limited Edition Antony Gaudi is limited to 128 pens worldwide, an allusion to the laying of the foundation stone of the Sagrada Família 128 years ago.
