2012 is the celebration of the 140th Anniversary of the S.T. Dupont brand. This new limited edition is an invitation to travel to 1872, at the height of Napolean III’s reign during the Second French Empire. S.T. Dupont, inspired by the great furniture houses of that period, emulates its splendor and sophistication through this set’s extraordinary craftsmanship.

Travel to the year 1872, the inception of the S.T. Dupont brand and the era of Napoleon II and Empress Eugenie. This period inspired the great French furniture houses and Second Empire style. Floral marquetry, or inlaid wood, inspire the delicate and finely engraved pale gold floral patterns. Brown and black placed lacquer provide rich contrast. It’s engraved with the floral motifs that were characteristic of the Second Empire Style. A crest bearing ST Dupont’s emblematic “D” is found on the front and carries 8 hand set ruby stones. It includes a bronze stand which represents Second Empire Style furniture.

One of the distinct feature of this style in the design mainstream is the decorative arts of Europe with influence from Spain to Sweden and Russia.
