The Inspiration comes from China – Lake Shanhu Pagodas
Lake Shanhu pagodas in Guilin at the Lijiang River Guangxi, China. These towers are quite the same. The tallest one (41 meters and nine floors) embodies the sun, the other (35 m and seven floors ) the Moon. Both are illuminated at night: in red such as gold for the first one and in blue as silver for the second.
ST Dupont Philippe Tournaire Limited Edition Fountain Pen China Sun Pagoda
Fashioned from bronze, each pen and base take shape in the hands of the artist. It is chased, engraved, polished and finished with a gold coloured patina. The column engraving is inspired by the friezes that decorate the building in Paris at the end of the French 17th century.
S.T. Dupont brand is engraved on the top of the pen under the dome and on the base. The pen is set on the magnetic base. The roof Pagoda is in 18K solid gold (4,7 grams on average). Tournaire goldsmith and solid gold hallmarks can be found on the roof. The Pagoda is finished with a red patina. Fountain pen with Olympio XL nib 18K solid gold nib. The inside stairs engraved with S.T. Dupont by Tournaire are gold finished. Black lacquered triptych packaging house the beautiful pen. Only 15 pieces are made worldwide.
