The Cathedral of Saint Basil, is a Russian Orthodox cathedral erected on the Red Square in Moscow in 1555 – 1561. Built on the order of Ivan IV of Russia to commemorate the capture of Kazan, the building’s design, shaped as a flame of a bonfire rising into the sky, has no analogues in Russian architecture. The cathedral is adorned with nine main domes. Each one has a specific shape and color. The building itself is mainly built of red brick, often apparent. The cathedral has been part of the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1990.
- Fashioned from bronze, each Moscow Saint Basil pen and base take shape in the hands of the artist. It is chased, engraved, polished and finished with a gold coloured patina. The column engraving is inspired by the friezes that decorate the building in Paris at the end of the French 17th century.
- S.T. Dupont brand is engraved on the top of the pen under the dome and on the base. The serial numbering is engraved on the pen following the S.T. Dupont engraving on the top of the pen and on the base. The pen is set on the magnetic base.
- The Saint Basil 9 domes are in 18K solid gold (6,4 grams on average). Each dome are lacquered with a different colour such as the Saint Basil cathedral domes. The solid gold domes are too small to put the hallmarks. The cathedral is finished with a mix of gold coloured patina and red patina. Fountain pen with Olympio XL nib -18-carats solid gold nib. The inside stairs engraved with S.T. Dupont by Tournaire are gold finished. Black lacquered triptych packaging house the beautiful pen.

But having a strong connection to the past doesn’t mean the brand sticks to a tried-and-true strategy. In fact, it is a dedication to innovation that has allowed them to be one of the top luxury manufacturers for nearly one and a half centuries.
Thanks to the organic development of their product line, S.T. Dupont officially specializes in four areas – lighters, pens, leather goods, and accessories and have branded these products, respectively – “The Art of Fire”, “The Art of Writing”, “The Art of Travel” and “The Art of Seduction”.
