For 2007 Montblanc is creating 3 new collectors items based on the Venetian Carnival, Greek mythology and the world of fables, which comprise this year’s Annual Edition collection. When hearty laughter rings out on the stage of the “commedia dell’ arte”, the rustic servant who has a particular liking for earthly pleasures and coarse jokes is never far away. A different tone is set by the imposing crane: in Far Eastern culture it weaves its way across the sky as the feathered symbol of immortality and eternal happiness. And Amphitrite, the Greek goddess of the ocean, watches over the fates of the sea from Mount Olympus at the side of her husband Poseidon.
As masterly illustrations, these legendary motifs, adorn the caps of porcelain from Meissen, whose world-famous origin is marked by the crossed blue swords. The annual Edition 2007, which like its predecessors will only be available for one year, is completed by the gold-plated body together with fine guilloche and a nib of 18-carat gold.
