In collaboration with “Best Buddies”, Montblanc launches a new writing instrument dedicated to John F. Kennedy. Best Buddies was created by Anthony Shriver, the nephew of J.F.K. to help children and adults with disabilities.
Commemorating one of the most revered figures in modern history, the Special Edition John F. Kennedy makes symbolic references to the life of J.F. Kennedy in subtle design details.
From 1961 onwards, the young American president brought a fresh breeze to the White House and impressed the world with his charisma, a man who shaped the 20th century. John F. Kennedy was the 35th President of the United States of America from 1961 to 1963. On May 25, 1961 Kennedy announced his ambitious space programme, which he aimed to achieve: “before this decade is out”. True to his vision, Neil Armstrong left his footprints on the moon in 1969.
The Edition features champagne-tone gold-coated fittings, and the body of the pen is crafted from resin, in a burgundy color designed to recall Kennedy’s Ivy League status as a Harvard alumnus. His initials “JFK” are engraved in the clip, and the three champagne-tone gold-coated cap rings stand for Kennedy’s three brothers, while the rings on the barrel symbolize his military career as a young WWII veteran. The pattern on the cap rings is inspired by the first footprint on the moon, a visionary expedition spearheaded by JFK. The Special Edition is decorated with the Montblanc emblem on the crown.
